Guitar Tuition for all ages and stages
A local school aimed at giving those interested in learning the skill of guitar playing, music reading and the enjoyment of music.
Tuition is for all ages and stages. Whether you’re younger or older, a novice or have some experience.
The Music Room can offer you the enjoyment of learning new skills and of sharing the music.
The Teacher
The Music Room’s musical director is Ben Powell.
Ben is a local musician with over a decade of experience and a passion for sharing his art.
Ben is married and has 3 children. He has completed a Certificate 4 in Contemporary Music and loves being able to share the gift of music through teaching others.
The School
The Music Room is based in Ben’s home town of Yankalilla. It is currently run, literally, out of the music room at Ben’s home.
Lessons
Guitar lessons are by appointment, normally on a Saturday between 9:00am and 3:00pm. Other times can be arranged either over the weekend or during the week.
Lesson times are either 30mins or 1hr duration.
Learning
Each student will be given a welcome pack with a music work book and some goodies to get you started. It is important that student have their own instruments. If you’re unsure that you want to purchase a guitar you can borrow one for the first 2 lessons but remember practice makes perfect and it’s hard to practice without the instrument.
Cost
Prices are $22 for a half hour lesson and $41 for 1 hour.
The first 2 lessons are free after which fees are charged on a 4 week basis and are due in advance. 10% discount applies for fees paid by the due date. If payment is difficult this can be discussed and alternative arrangements made if appropriate.
Payment can be made in cash or via electronic transfer. Please allow 3 working days if transferring fees by electronic transfer.
